Getting your Shopify store compliant with the EU Omnibus Directive doesn't have to be complicated. In this guide, we'll show you how to set up Omnibus Price Tracker in just 5 minutes.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have:
- A Shopify store (any plan)
- Admin access to your store
- Products in your catalog
Step 1: Install the App (1 minute)
- Visit the Shopify App Store
- Click "Add app"
- Review the permissions and click "Install app"
The app will automatically connect to your Shopify store.
Step 2: Enable the Widget (2 minutes)
After installation, you need to add the price display widget to your theme:
- Go to Online Store > Themes in your Shopify admin
- Click Customize on your active theme
- Navigate to a product page template
- Click Add block in the product section
- Select Omnibus Price Tracker from the Apps section
- Position the block where you want the price information to appear
- Click Save
Step 3: Configure Settings (1 minute)
Back in the Omnibus Price Tracker app:
- Go to Settings in the app navigation
- Choose your preferred display format
- Select your store's primary currency
- Customize colors to match your brand (optional)
- Click Save
Step 4: Verify Installation (1 minute)
Let's make sure everything is working:
- Visit a product page on your store
- Look for the Omnibus price disclosure widget
- If you've had the app installed for 30+ days, you'll see actual price history
- New installations will show "Price history tracking started"
Customization Options
Once installed, you can customize:
Display Text
Change the wording to match your brand voice or translate it to your customers' language.
Colors
Match the widget to your store's color scheme with custom primary and secondary colors.
Position
Move the widget above or below the main price, or into a separate section.
Show/Hide Conditions
Choose to only show the widget when there's an active discount.
Troubleshooting
Widget Not Appearing?
- Make sure the app block is added to your theme
- Check that the product template is correct
- Clear your browser cache
No Price History Showing?
- The app needs time to track prices
- Full 30-day history builds over 30 days
- You'll see data immediately for any new price changes
